Adapt and Flow CIC is born!
Very excited to be collaborating with the most awesome Linda Cain, who has joined me to set up Adapt and Flow CIC! Hurrah hurrah!!!!!
A CIC is a “community interest company”. It’s a bit like a charity, and operates as a not-for-profit limited company. Our aim is to apply for grant funding to cover costs of online classes, in-person community classes and online content! Our mission is to make yoga, qigong and meditation accessible for disabled people and those with long term health conditions. We value health and wellbeing, and promote these through the principles of trust, courage, calmness, kindness and compassion.
Linda has been practicing Qigong with Adapt and Flow since we began, and is one of our regular students. I like to refer to Linda as “the font of all knowledge” when it comes to Spinal Cord Injury. She moderates a spinal cord injury group, and is one of the most helpful, knowledgeable and supportive people I know.
After a career in Local Government, Linda took early retirement and works part-time for the Tribunal Service adjudicating on disability benefits. Outside of this, Linda has a wide range of interests including fused glass crafts, socialising, gardening, volunteering as a mentor with Back Up (the spinal injury charity) and exploring near and far with her partner who is based in Alaska. I feel very happy and grateful to have Linda as part of the team.
Watch this space for further updates! Excited to see where this takes us.....
